​With a broad range of experience in the arena of civil rights litigation, Ms. Cruz has represented various clients in New Mexico's federal district court in cases involving viewpoint based discrimination under the First Amendment, mistreatment of inmates, police misconduct, and sexual abuse of minors.

​Being well-versed in all aspects of employment law, Ms. Cruz has represented employees and employers before administrative agencies and trial courts.  In 2007, she was awarded a Fellowship through the Labor and Employment Law Section of the American Bar Association.  In 2011, she served as Chair of the Employment and Labor Law Section of the State Bar of New Mexico.

​During the first ten years of her legal career, Ms. Cruz represented school districts and community colleges throughout the state of New Mexico in lawsuits filed in both state and federal courts.  In so doing, she developed an unmatched understanding of how schools and administrators defend themselves against claims for liability.  She represented clients in cases involving civil rights violations, employment disputes, sexual abuse of minors, student-on-student violence, and premises liability.

As a sole practitioner, Ms. Cruz now exclusively focuses on representing children, school employees, and private individuals in cases where schools have caused harm or injury.
